Eat Out and Help Out
06.25.12
A local foodie’s favorite spot in downtown Brea, Cha Cha’s Latin Kitchen, is giving back to the community today through Thursday with a charity event to help a local single mom, named Linda, who is in need of financial help while fighting both cancer and heart failure. Her story touched the heart of Cha Cha’s co-owners Don Myers and Peter Serantoni, who found out that she had lost her job and is living in a local hotel with her girls.
The restaurant will offer a “Giveback Menu” featuring three-courses for $24.95. Ten dollars from every sale of this menu will go directly to Linda’s family, to help cover her medical expenses. Guests can also make monetary or gift card donations, which will be collected at Cha Cha’s or at Southland Church on 2950 East Imperial Highway in Brea.
Cha’s Cha’s features a California-Latin inspired menu with savory dishes prepared in the wood-fired oven, free-range Jidori chickens are roasted to perfection and tacos are topped with homemade fire-roasted salsas. In the lively lounge enjoy handcrafted cocktails made with freshly squeezed juices, house-made infusions, and seasonal fruit.
Cha Cha’s offers popular happy hour fare, and live Latin bands make it a festive ambience. Open 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday; 11:30 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Sunday brunch form 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner nightly. Cha Cha’s is at 110 W. Birch St., Brea. For more information visit http://www.chachaslatinkitchen.com or 714.240.1055.

We’re big fans of Primavera, an organic line of natural skin, body, wellness and home products that recently made its debut from Germany. Primavera is not yet sold in Orange County, but you can buy their wonderful products online and at select locations in Los Angeles, La Jolla, Pacific Palisades, Corona and Indian Wells.
Primavera’s products incorporate essential oils and are based on the healing properties of plants including neroli, rose pomegranate, grapeseed oil, calming honey chamomile and juniper cyress. And Primavera sources its ingredients from independent farmers committed to fair trade and organic farming.
When you use high quality Primavera’s products at home, it’s as close to a serene spa feeling as you’re going to get. Primavera’s selections include Beauty for face care and body care; Wellness for cold therapy and sleep therapy; and Home for essential oil blends and organic airsprays.
